Visual Effects

For our ICA we need to create a 30 second piece including the following effects:

• Previs
• Footage Acquisition
• 3D tracking and match-moving
• Proxy Models
• Light Matching
• Photorealistic texturing
• Particles and simulation
• Multi-pass

 It had taken me a little while to figure out what to do but I think I am going to do a space invaders scene. I am going to use the chest of drawers at the top of the stairs, it has a candle set, air freshener and a picture frame on it.

The light on the air freshener will go off, the glass candles will shake and start to move upwards. The air freshener will move to the center of the drawers and when it is under a candle the light will go off and it will shoot/spray the candle making the candle shatter.

Not sure the picture frames part in this, it might just stay where it is, or when everything moves it might get scared and go face down on the table till everything is over. Or it could fall on its back and then when its over the flap at the back that helps it stand up could open helping it get back up.

At the end when the glass is all shattered the air freshener returns so its spot. I havent decided if I am going to add a person to this scene, if so I might use a person to light the candles at the beginning or walk past and when they are down stairs is when they start to animate.

At least the initial idea is out there so I can start on storyboards, research and tests.
